Islam and State: Theorizing Fatwa, Public Policy, and Violence
Islam and state are a symbiotic mutualistic relationship. Religion on the one hand needs the state to realize the ideals of justice and religious teachings, but on the other hand state also needs religion as a source of ethics in realizing the goal of governance. Therefore, the relation between religion and the state which is realized in the context of fatwas and public policy is very important. The sinergy between each other can be a tool to solve problems, but it can also be a tool of causes of conflict in society and even violence. Therefore, this book will further elaborate on the cooperation between fatwas and public policy and the context of violence on the other hand.
